Detailed Description

Tungsten carbide balls are commonly used in valve balls, bearing balls, measuring balls and wear-resistant industrial applications.

Tungsten Carbide Balls

Tungsten carbide balls are manufactured from tungsten carbide-cobalt sintered materials and are widely used in applications requiring very high hardness and wear resistance.

Common tungsten carbide ball grades include YG6 (WC-6), YG8 (WC-8) and other WC-Co carbide grades with different cobalt content and mechanical performance.

Compared with standard steel balls, tungsten carbide balls provide significantly higher hardness, better wear resistance and superior dimensional stability, making them suitable for precision valve balls, bearing balls and severe wear applications.

Due to their very high hardness and relatively brittle structure, tungsten carbide balls should be protected from severe impact loading or improper handling during assembly and operation.

FAQ
What are tungsten carbide balls used for?
Tungsten carbide balls are commonly used in valve, bearing, measuring and severe wear applications.
What is the advantage of tungsten carbide balls?
Tungsten carbide balls provide extremely high hardness, excellent wear resistance and long service life.
What is the difference between YG6 and YG8 carbide balls?
YG6 carbide balls generally provide higher hardness, while YG8 carbide balls provide better toughness due to higher cobalt content.
What does WC-6 or WC-8 mean?
WC-6 and WC-8 are tungsten carbide-cobalt grades with approximately 6% or 8% cobalt binder content.
Are tungsten carbide balls magnetic?
Tungsten carbide balls may show slight magnetism depending on cobalt content.
Can tungsten carbide balls be used in bearing applications?
Yes. Tungsten carbide balls are commonly used in high-wear and specialized bearing applications.
Are tungsten carbide balls corrosion resistant?
Tungsten carbide balls provide good corrosion resistance in many industrial environments, but compatibility should be confirmed for corrosive chemical media.
Can you provide custom sizes or specifications?
Yes, custom ball sizes and tungsten carbide grades are available depending on requirements.
Do you provide inspection reports or material certificates?
Yes, inspection reports and material certificates are available upon request.
