Through-hardened carbon steel balls are manufactured from high carbon steel and heat treated to achieve high hardness and wear resistance throughout the entire cross-section. High carbon steel balls are widely used in industrial applications requiring higher load capacity and improved durability compared with low carbon steel balls.
Also known as high carbon steel balls, AISI 1085 / 1086 steel balls provide higher hardness and wear resistance than low carbon steel balls.
AISI 1085 / 1086 carbon steel balls are manufactured from high carbon steel and heat treated through the entire cross-section to obtain consistent hardness and improved mechanical strength.
Compared with case-hardened low carbon steel balls, high carbon steel balls provide better wear resistance and higher load capacity for demanding industrial applications.
