Detailed Description

Also known as high carbon steel balls, AISI 1085 / 1086 steel balls provide higher hardness and wear resistance than low carbon steel balls.

High Carbon Steel Balls

AISI 1085 / 1086 carbon steel balls are manufactured from high carbon steel and heat treated through the entire cross-section to obtain consistent hardness and improved mechanical strength.

Compared with case-hardened low carbon steel balls, through-hardened carbon steel balls provide better wear resistance and higher load capacity for demanding industrial applications.

FAQ
What is the difference between through-hardened and case-hardened steel balls?
Through-hardened steel balls are hardened throughout the entire cross-section, while case-hardened steel balls have only a hardened outer layer with a softer inner core.
Why use high carbon steel balls?
They provide higher hardness, improved wear resistance and better load capacity compared with low carbon steel balls.
Are through-hardened carbon steel balls corrosion resistant?
No. High carbon steel balls have low corrosion resistance and are usually supplied with oil protection to reduce rust risk.
What is the advantage of through-hardening?
Through-hardening provides more consistent hardness and better wear resistance throughout the entire ball structure.
Can these balls be used in bearing applications?
Yes, they are commonly used in general bearing and industrial mechanical applications where corrosion resistance is not required.
Can you provide custom sizes or specifications?
Yes, custom sizes, heat treatment conditions and packaging are available depending on requirements.
Can you provide samples for testing?
Yes, standard sizes are usually available for testing and evaluation.
Do you provide inspection reports or certificates?
Yes, inspection reports and material certificates are available upon request.
What packaging options do you offer?
Cartons, steel drums, bulk bags and customized packaging are available according to customer requirements.
